Livingbridge, one of the UK’s leading mid-market private equity investors, has agreed the sale of its minority stake in Efficio, a leading international procurement consultancy, to the firm’s management team. The investment was originally made from the Livingbridge 5 fund.

Established in 2000, Efficio supports its global client base by reducing costs, improving processes and upskilling teams to deliver sustainable benefits across their procurement functions. Since its foundation, the company has evolved significantly to offer a broad spectrum of digitally enabled services beyond traditional procurement consulting.

Livingbridge first invested in Efficio in 2016, having identified the potential to accelerate the firm’s growth trajectory and cement its position as the world’s largest independent specialist procurement consultancy. During its five-year investment, Livingbridge assisted the expansion of Efficio’s managed service offering, development of the eFlow digital platform and the firm’s international expansion, doubling its turnover and profit. Livingbridge also strengthened the firm’s leadership team with the appointment of Roger Siddle, former UK Managing Partner of Bain & Company, as Chairman.

Since Livingbridge’s acquisition, Efficio has established itself as a clear market leader and earned widespread recognition within the industry. Achievements include being featured in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, the FT:1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies and named within the UK’s Leading Management Consultants. The management team were also recognised at the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Awards as National Mid-Market Management Team of the Year.

Adam Holloway at Livingbridge, said: “It has been a pleasure to partner with Efficio over the past five years, supporting the business to deliver significant growth whilst solidifying its market leading position. Efficio is well-positioned to deliver further growth, increasing its global market share. We wish the team all the best in the next stage of their development.”

Jens Pedersen, CEO of Efficio, said: “Livingbridge’s investment and expertise have been invaluable to our success and we are now well positioned to navigate the next chapter of our journey. With Livingbridge’s support, we have achieved global recognition and developed a truly compelling proposition for our clients, combining the highest quality of people with industry-leading technology.”
