Congratulations on a successful fundraiser for the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity

On September 10th and 11th, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity’s flagship fundraising event, St Thomas’ Abseil, was proudly sponsored by Livingbridge.

The independent charitable foundation has, for over 500 years, invested in and promoted a healthier society, backing people and ideas to drive more equitable health. It’s a cause we’re delighted to be supporting.

Across the pandemic, its staff delivered exceptional care to those who are in need. Its staff were recently named Super-Surge Critical Care COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team at the prestigious Intensive Care Society Awards 2021 – very well-deserved recognition for the great work they have done.

To show our support and raise much-needed funds, the Livingbridge team abseiled down the 160 ft façade of the hospital. We raised a total of £3,295, 329% of what was originally pledged, which will go towards providing much-needed mental and physical wellbeing support for the incredible staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’.

This latest event highlights Livingbridge’s ongoing commitment to the wider community as well as its longstanding relationship with the charity. Wol Kolade has served as its Chair since October 2015.

This is the second fundraising event of the year that Livingbridge have organised through their partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity. Most recently, on July 5th, Livingbridge held a Big Tea fundraiser for the Foundation, raising a total of £731.

‘We are thrilled that Livingbridge is the headline sponsor for one of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity’s most popular fundraising events, helping us to raise nearly £300,000.00 over two days, and even opening the event with a team of brave abseilers!

It is thanks to Livingbridge’s generous sponsorship of St Thomas’ Abseil, that our hospitals can continue to deliver essential health and wellbeing support to our staff, aiding the recovery of the hospitals in the long term, and ensuring that staff have the best possible care whilst they are caring for others.’

Catherine Hart, Director of Fundraising, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.
