A leading supplier of conservatory blinds and custom-made awnings, Thomas Sanderson Blinds was founded by husband and wife team, Bob and Norma Thomas.
Livingbridge acquired 56% of the business in 2001 as part of a buy-in/MBO and began working with the buy-in team who were very strong operators and worked well together. Consumer spending was buoyant and there was a good uplift in property prices and the team at Thomas Sanderson were well placed and motivated to capitalise on the opportunity with strategic input from Livingbridge. Profit margins grew from 12% to 17% over the investment period and Thomas Sanderson was sold to its biggest supplier, Hunter Douglas, in 2003 after 25% year-on-year revenue growth.
