Sykes is one of the largest self-catering holiday property lettings agencies in the UK, providing holidaymakers with over 5,000 hand-picked cottages based throughout the UK and Ireland. The properties range from romantic cottages for two, to contemporary properties for large groups, pet-friendly cottages and luxury cottages with jacuzzis and saunas.
The business has nearly 25 years’ experience in matching customers to their perfect holiday home. Founded in 1991 by Clive Sykes, early properties in the Sykes portfolio were based in North Yorkshire, the Peak District and Wales. Sykes now has properties listed throughout the whole of the UK and Ireland.
The investment by Livingbridge will support the business as it looks to further increase its coverage and portfolio throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Livingbridge investment was led by Daniel Smith, Mark Advani, Xavier Woodward and Maria Evgeniou and builds upon Livingbridge’s significant experience of investing in leading UK travel businesses. Previous investments in the sector include online travel agent On the Beach, car rental giant Travel Jigsaw and Encore Tickets, the UK’s largest distributor of London theatre tickets.
