"We take it really personally if we ever let a customer down, and we’re continually looking at how we can improve. We never really settle. That, for me, is the ethos of the organisation. … You can build relationships with customers, but if you don’t have an infrastructure that’s robust and performs to standard, customers won’t stay with you.”
Jenny Davies, CEO of M247
Jenny first joined M247 in 2016 when it was mostly a wireless ISP company with a focus on Northern England. She discusses how the business has changed and rapidly grown since then:
“Now we’re not just UK-wide but international as well. When you’re continuing to grow double digit revenue at the same time as transforming, it’s a challenge for any organisation but I’m proud to say that we continue to achieve that. “We’ve come a long way and [now have] a great platform for further growth, organically and acquisitively.”
M247 continues to focus on its home market, but the 260-people-strong company has over 40 points of presence across the globe, and the goal is to push towards further international expansion. Jenny explains that the business' sizable transit network gives it an edge:
“For customers looking for high performance, high availability, low latency and therefore quality, we can provide that. We’ve got these points of presence all around the globe which enable them to get to their customers easily. Our service proposition is leading in the sense of fifteen-minute response times, twenty-four seven support. When you wrap all that together - robust infrastructure, global reach, and a winning service proposition - we’ve captured a market that’s looking for a supplier who can bring all that together.”
Before becoming CEO, Jenny spent the previous two years as Operations Director and then MD. She was also in charge of completing the integration of Venus, acquired in 2017, as well as the transformative M247 deal back when the company was called Metronet.
Commenting on her role in the business, Jenny states "I’ve accelerated parts of our strategy: creating a new group operating model; building out our international network; further investing in our UK infrastructure network. We’ve accelerated our journey into an international connectivity and cloud services provider.”
