Consumer-focused events company

Upper Street Events is a leading events business, owning a portfolio of market leading shows including The Gadget Show Live, The Cycle Show, London Art Fair and Country Living Fairs.

Upper Street’s events cater for nearly 250,000 passionate individuals and it works with some 3,500 exhibitors at venues like Alexandra Palace, The Business Design Centre, Olympia, The NEC, Harrogate International Centre, The RDS Dublin and the SECC Glasgow.

We invested in the business in 2014. During our investment we supported a management buyout, and worked with the Upper Street Events team as they developed both pre-existing and new concepts and to deliver creative and relevant content that engages audiences, exhibitors and brands. In 2016 we supported the business to acquire Escape Events, allowing it to launch new shows and expand its delivery of premium events.

We exited Upper Street Events in 2019, with Sanjay Panchal commenting:

“We’ve really enjoyed working with Julie and her team at Upper Street to build the business into a market leader for passion-led consumer events. The business is now well-positioned to benefit from the growing demand for engaging experiences from brands and consumers alike. We remain excited for Upper Street’s prospects and look forward to seeing them prosper on this next stage of their growth journey.”

“We’ve really appreciated the support from Livingbridge during their investment, and after a terrific 2018, this heralds a new and exciting next phase for the business..”
