2017 was an excellent year for Livingbridge’s northern team and consumer businesses played a significant part in that success.

Manchester has established itself as a hub for fast-fashion, building on the back of the city’s heritage in textiles and leveraging the strong talent pool within the city’s digital community.

Private Equity continues to find success investing in travel businesses based outside of London and Livingbridge investee, Sykes Holiday Cottages, reported record growth last year and was named as one of the top 1,000 companies to inspire Europe  in a report by the London Stock Exchange Group.

Across the panel, optimism was high that there will continue to be fantastic opportunities to invest in disruptive, high-growth consumer businesses in the regions.

The BVCA Retail & Consumer Forum explored a variety of topics in the retail and consumer space including what is coming next for innovation in consumer tech, what opportunities are on offer in the UK, the luxury vs affordable question and where we are in the cycle for retail and consumer investing, with Brexit as a backdrop.
