“At Livingbridge we share a tremendous ambition with the companies we partner with, and have a track record of helping them achieve their strategic goals and aspirations.”
As a director in the new investments team, my focus is on the identification, sourcing and structuring of investment opportunities for our funds. These activities allow me to meet ambitious businesses and entrepreneurs on a regular basis, providing a variety of commercial experiences and enabling me to gain a better understanding of business strategy. My role affords me the opportunity to work with talented business managers, and to contribute to their success in a manner that involves more than just providing funding. It was this partnership-based approach to investing that attracted me to Livingbridge. I am pleased to say that since joining the organisation, the executive teams I work with genuinely want, and welcome, that support.
Livingbridge is a dynamic organisation that continually strives to deliver success. The quality and experience of the companies and individuals with whom we are lucky enough to work with is tremendous. These attributes are hugely energising. I’m part of our business services team here at Livingbridge and have spent considerable time over the last two years developing our understanding of the recruitment sector. The demonstrable impact of a committed and high performing executive on a business was no more evidenced than at The Up Group, a recent investment in this space. The Up Group was only founded in 2007 and had quickly become a trusted digital adviser to boardrooms across Europe. Known for its strong relationships with digital executives, entrepreneurs and investors, The Up Group has built the senior leadership teams for some of the world’s most high profile companies. Our sector focus and experience in working with entrepreneurial founders, helping them take their businesses on through the next stage of development, was a significant factor for the team at Up Group choosing to work with us.
I graduated from Sheffield before training as an accountant at PwC. Following qualification, I moved into corporate finance with PwC specialising in advising private equity houses on structuring their investments and raising bank debt to support the transactions. After seven years at PwC I moved to a smaller boutique environment where I fulfilled a broader advisory role working with privately owned businesses in the UK mid market. It’s in this mid-market segment – working with growth businesses – that I focus on at Livingbridge.
I am a keen golfer and lifelong Manchester United fan.
