“Nothing is more rewarding than meeting and working with founders who are passionate about their businesses and have great vision about where they want to take them.”
I’m a member of the new investment team based in London. The majority of my time is spent identifying, researching and meeting interesting companies and management teams. I really enjoy talking to entrepreneurs about their businesses, and working out how we can help them achieve their ambitions.
A particularly memorable deal I have worked on was our investment in BoilerJuice, the heating oil comparison website. Paul Ward, the founder, had created an amazing business which operated in a niche market with almost no competition and was able to deliver benefits to both consumers and suppliers equally. Our track record of working with founder entrepreneurs meant that we were well-placed to complete the investment off-market whilst building a cohesive team to work alongside the founder.
Despite always having a business career in mind, I studied biology at the University of Bristol as I’m fascinated by learning and understanding how things operate. After graduating I joined KPMG in London to train as a Chartered Accountant, where I worked in the deal advisory team, focusing on advising private equity clients on transactions across a range of sectors.
I enjoy competitive sailing (having done this for most of my life), travelling to new places and spending time with friends and family.
