“Commercial strategy is the lifeblood of a mid-market business. Developing strategy, articulating strategy, implementing strategy: helping a business to ‘transform’, by truly understanding the handful of priorities which will really drive its performance.”

My objective is to support this strategic process, ensuring that within our portfolio companies, the right areas of the business are gaining the focus they require, the right decisions are being made to develop the business, and that both management and investor are aligned around the optimal approach to growth.

I believe that the best approach to supporting the growth of a business is through the private equity investor and management team embracing evolutionary change together, each party bringing its expertise to deliver a complete solution. From my experience, good strategy needs to be clear sighted, realistic, commonsensical, flexible and pragmatic. I joined Livingbridge as I believe this is more true today than ever before.

My credentials to deliver on this challenging role include: 12 years at L.E.K Consulting, a mid-market strategy consulting house, where, as a partner for six years, I focused on these issues for a range of clients, from blue chip to owner managed; almost three years as the FD of the UK subsidiary of S&P 500 Oil & Gas and Chemicals Inc., also supporting European corporate development activities; an ACA and a degree from Bristol University (in biochemistry). I have seen a vast number of transactions, and helped to define and deliver in a wide variety of scenarios.

My perfect day is force 3-4 breeze, a 40ft hull, sunshine, azure sea and beer on ice.
